We went today for our integrated screen. It's a test that looks for chromosome problems like Down's syndrome and trisomy 18. It was fun because we got to see the baby again. I put a couple pictures from the ultrasound above. The sonographer who did my exam had trouble getting the correct view. So she kept pushing up and down on my stomach trying to get the baby to move. It looked like the baby was on a waterbed...kept flailing his/her arms. I thought it was funny so everytime she did it I giggled- not helpful. Eventually she got the right view and everything looked fine. The integrated screen involves another blood test in 4 weeks then we get the results like a week after that. We are not high risk for any of these problems- we really just did it for peace of mind.
I am 12 weeks now- waiting for all the fun of second trimester to start. In the next 6 weeks I will find out the baby's sex, feel him/her move for the 1st time and hopefully be rid of my nausea. Should be a pretty exciting few weeks. I'll keep you all posted.
Wow....amazing how much she has grown in the last few weeks! She definitely is giving us all a wave! Hope you start feeling better soon and can start enjoying the last 6 months of pregnancy!
