Announcement!

Brian and I are proud to announce that we are expecting of our first child. We have told our parents, siblings and a few close friends. I am only about 5-6 weeks pregnant and we should not be spreading the word just yet. But we are not very good at keep secrets- especially Brian. I am not sure that there will be anyone left to tell when we are supposed to start telling people- after the 1st trimester. :)
We are excited, to say the least. I had my first doctors appointment this week. Had blood work done and scheduled our 1st ultrasound. On January 22nd we'll get our first look at Baby Barbour.
So far I am doing fine. Morning sickness is a huge misnomer. It's more like random waves of nausea which happen without warning or provocation. Don't get me wrong- it's not too bad. It just rarely happens in the morning when it is supposed to. The other thing I have noticed is that I am tired. My bed calls to me early every night. All part of being pregnant.

I stole this idea- for a pregnancy blog from a friend. She was pregnant during medical school and her family was several states away. So she started a blog to keep them involved in the process. And so I have stolen her idea. I intend to post pictures once my belly begins to grow and maybe even ultrasound images if I can figure out how. Hopefully I will keep up with his blog- post every week or so and keep you all updated to my progress.
