We had our first ultrasound today. We got our first look at our baby. It was so tiny and mostly looked like a little blob. But you could see and hear the heart beat. That was neat. It was fast. It was 162 beats per minute (which is normal). They measured the crown-rump length (the length from head to tail) and estimated my due date at September 5th. I feel better knowing everything looks normal- the little heart beat is in the right place. But seriously, it's such a tiny little thing to be causing all that fatigue and nausea.
Afterward I was teasing Brian that he is a blob-daddy. He told me that he thinks the baby is a girl. Just a feeling he says. We'll have to wait and see if he's right. We made the appointment for our next ultrasound, 4/9/10. This is the big one where we get to see all the little parts and maybe the sex of the baby.

Wow, isn't technology amazing. Not only does it give us a glimpse of Baby Barbour, but it also lets us know that everything is normal... Whoo-hoo!!! Can't wait for the next ultrasound. Hopefully the little parts (or lack thereof) will tell us if Brian's intuition is right or wrong. Thanks for sharing. Love you guys! (All 3 of you!)
ReplyDeleteAwesome! Love baby's first picture. Thanks for keeping us informed. I still think that Ragueneau would make a great name...just sayin' (lol)
